Nubank customers have been reporting an increasingly growing trend when it comes to account cancellations by the digital bank. This alleged mass suspension is a very common practice of the company, even provided for in the user contract, but what are the reasons behind this?

Account cancellations occur every month at all banks for customers who do not comply with the institution's rules.

The company has the autonomy to carry out this type of procedure. In the case of Nubank, the user who has their account blocked receives the following message:

“In order to ensure your safety and comply with mandatory regulations, we constantly analyze various factors related to the registration and use of our services by our customers. After a more detailed analysis, we have decided to cancel all your products Nubank definitely.”

Reasons for cancellation

The most common reason for account cancellation is the lack of commercial interest on the part of the fintech. This happens when the customer remains inactive for a long time, i.e., they stop using the services and making transactions in the account.

This way, the bank is no longer interested in having that consumer in its customer portfolio.

Another very common reason is improper use, which leads to account suspension even for those who use the card frequently.

In these cases, the justification is the carrying out of operations that contravene the rules set out in the contract, sent to the client when opening the account.
