Announcements

It makes it much easier to get free or discounted interstate tickets or even access government health services and programs for the elderly.

But do you know how to get yours? Not yet? Well, we're going to change that reality today!

Come with us to check out the step-by-step process for issuing your card!

Request your Senior Citizen Card through CadÚnico

The simplest way to obtain your Senior Citizen Card is through CadÚnico, as this is a mandatory registration for issuing the resource.

Therefore, if you are not yet registered, look for the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in your city to do so.

Once this is done, you will have 2 options to issue your card. See what they are:

1. At CRAS itself

After completing your registration with CadÚnico, you can immediately request your card from CRAS, but it takes up to 45 days for it to be issued.

2. Request via the internet, by the elderly person themselves

If you prefer, you can also request your card online, and to do so simply access Senior Citizen Card website.

There, click on “Issue Wallet” and log in with Gov.br to carry out the issuance process.

It is important to say that this is a free 100% service, regardless of the means chosen to carry it out.

How long does it take to issue the Senior Citizen Card?

The deadline for issuing the Senior Citizen Card varies according to the method used to request it.

This means that, if you do the procedure online, through the website, the issuance is immediate, so you can print or access the data right away.

If the request was made in person, at CRAS, the deadline for issuance is up to 45 days, counting from the date of request.

The reason it takes longer for in-person service is due to the information being updated in the system.

Therefore, for seniors pre-registered with CadÚnico, the process is faster.

To track the issuance of your card, you can access the Senior Citizen Card page to check information.

Learn how to use your card

After issuing it, you can finally start using your Senior Citizen Card, and for this you have a few options:

1. Use the digital version

Currently, the Senior Citizen Card has a digital version, since it is possible to check the information using the QR-Code.

In this case, simply show your ID card on your cell phone screen, and the transportation service companies will be able to verify the information by reading the identification code.

To do this, simply download the wallet file to your cell phone and show the image whenever you need to.

2. Presentation of the physical wallet

If you prefer to use the physical document, that is also possible. To do so, simply download it from the website and print the file.

Once done, cut it out and, if you prefer, laminate it to prevent the paper from getting damaged with daily use.

With your card in hand, simply present it when you need to use a service that requires it.

It is important to say that both options are valid for 2 (two) years., being necessary to renew the card after this period to continue accessing the benefits.
