What is the Sock Money Program?

The Pé de Meia Program is a Federal Government initiative scheduled to begin operating in 2024, which aims to promote the education of adolescents and young people in High School.

Especially for poorer families, it is common for young people to face difficulties in completing basic education because they have to start working earlier in order to help with the family income.

With this reality in mind, this initiative aims to promote monthly and annual payments in exchange for school attendance and completion of each year of high school.

In total there are 4 basic criteria: registration, frequency, year end e ENEM, and each of them is received separately, as each one has its own requirements.

Especially the frequency, it is necessary to comply with the minimum monthly frequency to receive the installment for that month.

For example, a student may receive the tuition fee, but not receive a month of attendance, due to having exceeded the absence limit.

Check in detail the amounts you can receive

We previously explained that the Pé de Meia Program has 4 basic criteria, and each of them pays specific amounts. We will now explain how this works.

There are 4 basic criteria for payment, which are:

  • School enrollment: R$ 200.00, once a year;
  • End of school year: R$ 1,000, once a year;
  • School attendance: R$ 200.00 monthly (up to 10 installments per year);
  • ENEM: R$ 200.00 (1 installment in the last year of high school).

At the end of the 3 years of High School, when adding up all the amounts received, it is possible to have savings of up to R$9,200.00.

It is important to note that some of these amounts can be withdrawn at any time, as is the case with registration and attendance.

However, amounts for completing the school year cannot be withdrawn, as they are stored in a type of savings account.

The withdrawal of savings amounts may occur after the issuance of the high school completion certificate, together with the ENEM values.

This means that if the student wants to save all the amounts, he will have a larger savings account, but if he wants to withdraw the amounts released monthly, at the end he will only have the savings amount, which is around R$ 3,000.00 to R$ 3,200.00.

What are the requirements to participate?

Participating in the Pé de Meia Program is very simple, as you just need to meet the basic requirements, which are as follows:

  • Adolescents and Young People aged 14 to 24 enrolled in Regular High School in Public Education Network schools;
  • Adolescents and Young People aged 14 to 24 enrolled in High School EJA (Education for Young People and Adults) in the Public Education Network;
  • Family with updated registration in CadÚnico.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to being a student in the Public Education System, the student's family group must also meet the financial vulnerability criteria, according to CadÚnico.

Important: As we explained, Pé de Meia divides the amounts paid into criteria, so that, to receive the total amount, you must meet all the criteria, otherwise, you will only receive the amounts corresponding to the criteria met.
