Announcements

  • Rural area without access to electricity supply;
  • Remote area of the Legal Amazon without access to electricity supply;
  • Remote area of the Legal Amazon with access to electricity supply from non-renewable sources.

Therefore, if any of these criteria are met, the applicant must submit a request for inclusion in the program to the electricity company that provides service in that municipality.

This will allow the company, together with the Federal Government, to gather resources and authorizations for the installation of equipment that promotes clean energy in the region.

Find out how to check if there is a service forecast in your region

As seen previously, to include your region in Luz Para Todos, the request must be made to the electricity company that serves your municipality.

When making the request, you will be able to check whether there is already a previous request and its status.

This will give you a certain supply forecast, so that if there is already an order in progress, it is expected to be faster.

It is worth mentioning that the program foresees service until 2026 for rural regions and 2028 for remote areas of the Legal Amazon.

Currently, IBGE data shows that 99.8% of Brazilian territory has electricity supply.

By the end of the program, it is estimated that 100% in the country will have access to the service, so, in a maximum of 4 years, all regions should have access to electricity from renewable sources.

How will energy tariffs be charged in regions benefiting from Luz Para Todos?

After the region is included in the electricity supply, this starts to occur through an electricity company that serves the region.

Therefore, fees will be charged regularly, and will be charged by the supply company itself.

This means that, as is usually the case in other regions of the country, billing will be based on monthly consumption calculations.

Then, after full operation, the region will have to adapt to paying tariffs for electricity consumption.

It is worth mentioning that, if the family faces a situation of financial vulnerability, they can count on the Social Electricity Tariff program to obtain a discount of up to 100%.

So, now that you know how everything works, be sure to request electricity supply for your region, as this is a right guaranteed to all Brazilians!
