What is the Inclusion Aid for People with Disabilities?

You have certainly heard that people with disabilities who live in a situation of financial vulnerability are entitled to BPC (Continuous Progression Benefit).

In this case, you also know that to receive BPC you must present some disability that makes you unable to carry out paid work.

But what happens when the beneficiary's situation changes, or even if he or she wants to enter the job market, since this activity interrupts the payment of BPC?

For this occasion, the Inclusion Assistance for People with Disabilities, which aims to offer financial support in order to promote the inclusion of this citizen in the professional market.

This aid is paid monthly, and corresponds to the value of half the current national minimum wage.

However, it is not enough to be a person with a disability and be working to receive it. See below the requirements for the benefit.

What is the difference between BPC/LOAS and Inclusion Aid?

Before we talk about the requirements for Inclusion Aid, it is important to explain the difference between it and BPC.

This is because it is very common to believe that it is possible to receive both benefits at the same time.

However, BPC is paid precisely when the beneficiary does not work due to disability.

Therefore, if the disability situation changes, or even if the person starts working (demonstrating that it is possible), the BPC payment can be suspended.

The Inclusion Aid is an initiative that aims to provide support for this phase, where the person wants to start their professional life.

So, the difference between both benefits is that BPC is paid when the person does not carry out paid work activity, while Aid is intended for people with disabilities who work.

What are the requirements to receive?

Do you remember that we said earlier that it is not enough to just be a person with a disability who works to be able to receive the Inclusion Allowance?

This is because there are some mandatory requirements to guarantee receipt of the benefit, which are:

  • Moderate or severe degree of disability;
  • Be a BPC beneficiary and start to carry out paid work;
  • Having been a beneficiary of BPC in the last 5 years and having had this interrupted due to the exercise of paid activity;
  • Have registration with the INSS;
  • Registration with CadÚnico;
  • Regular CPF;
  • Monthly remuneration of up to 2 (two) minimum wages;
  • Meet the BPC/LOAS continuity criteria, including family income.

As we can see, the number of requirements is significant, but in summary, we can highlight two main criteria: income and proven degree of disability.

This means that it is not enough to be a person with a disability and be working, since if the salary is higher than 2 minimum wages, it is no longer possible to receive the benefit.
