Gas assistance: cooking gas doesn't have to weigh on your family budget!

Running out of cooking gas can be a real problem, after all, this is a basic resource for ensuring food.

However, due to high prices, many families have lost regular access to the resource, as the purchase is beyond their monthly budget.

With this issue in mind, the Federal Government launched the Gas Aid, which aims to make this purchase possible.

This occurs through the payment of an amount to cover 100% of the value of the 13kg cylinder.

And the most interesting thing is that this benefit is paid together with Bolsa Família, therefore, if you receive it, you may be entitled to gas assistance.

Guaranteed access to cooking gas for poorer families
Receive 100% of the value of the 13kg gas cylinder
Benefit paid bimonthly
Cumulative benefit with others, such as Bolsa Família, aid and other grants

Main questions

There is no specific amount for the Gas Aid payment, precisely because cooking gas undergoes frequent price changes.
Therefore, the amount paid corresponds to 100% of the average sales value of a 13kg gas cylinder, according to the national average.
This means that if the gas cylinder costs the national average, for example, R$100.00, the aid installment will be this same amount.
Previously, the amount paid corresponded to just 50% of the cost of the gas cylinder, but since January 2023 this has changed, thanks to a provisional measure.
To receive the Gas Aid itself, there is no specific registration, because the inclusion of eligible families is done through the Single Registry.
Therefore, all you need to do is keep your Single Registry updated, so the system can identify whether your family meets the basic inclusion criteria.
If so, the benefit will be paid automatically, together with Bolsa Família.
It is very common for some people to be concerned about the inclusion of the Gas Aid value, as they think it could change their family income.
But don't worry, because the value of the benefit installment does not enter into the calculation of family income, therefore it does not change your eligibility for other social programs and benefits.
The receipt of the Gas Aid occurs immediately after the family is included in the benefit, which is done automatically by the system.
Therefore, immediately after inclusion, the family will begin to receive the benefit, in the amount calculated according to the rules specified previously.
Benefit payment occurs in two main ways:
In a digital or bank account, previously informed;
Or
Caixa Social Savings, so that if the family representative does not have an account under their CPF, one will be opened automatically.
Regarding payment frequency, this occurs every 2 (two) months.
But, be careful: although payment is bimonthly, payment is only 1 installment..
Just like Bolsa Família, Auxílio-gás is not permanent.
This means that receipt only occurs as long as the family meets the eligibility criteria.
In general, the criteria correspond to family income, therefore, if family income changes, the benefit may be suspended.
But be careful: this change must be enough to alter the family income range to the point of exceeding the maximum accepted values.

Gas assistance: a resource to guarantee access to food

It has been a long time since cooking gas became an essential resource in the daily lives of Brazilian citizens.

Announcements

This is because it is well known that it is not enough to have food if it is not possible to cook it.

Therefore, the offer of gas assistance represents a minimum resource for access to the purchase of cooking gas.

Thus, financially disadvantaged families will have guaranteed access to food, which goes beyond the food itself.

And best of all, the receipt process is very simple, with no specific registration required.

Just keep your Single Registry updated and wait for your family to be included, which occurs in cycles.

This means that once a month the system updates and selects families eligible to receive the benefit.

Therefore, go to the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) in your city to update your registration, and then just wait!
